Description
Mittens of woolen fabric were made and distributed by the Philadelphia Ladies Aid Society having made arrangements with the Quartermaster to supply material from the US Arsenal.
Patterns were furnished by the Wilcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine Company and E.W. Carryl & Co. Military & House Furnishing Store.
The pattern states that "a lady with a sewing machine can make 12 to 15 pairs of Cloth Mittens in the time it takes to knit one pair of yarn ones."
Kit includes the re-mastered pattern and enough wool fabric to complete one pair of mittens and our construction notes.
