Imagine a hat pin worn by wives, daughters or sweethearts. Some buttons were so revered, they were made into jewelry. These hat pins, cuff links, lapel pins and bracelets were taken from uniforms and converted into esteemed reminders of a veteran’s service to his country.Too often, in rememberance of a loved one’s ultimate sacrifice. They survive today, some documented with the history they were a part of, some of forgotten importance, but all reminders of the honored service of the soldiers who once wore them.
