Description
U.S. Enlistedman's Coat Button, M1851-1880
PLAIN BRASS
Manufactured by Waterbury Button Company
MADE IN U.S.A.
This button is produced from an original "Scoville" button provided to Waterbury by Spencer Waldron.
Note: For Federal Civil War Overcoats applications, use 30 line Eagle
enlisted buttons for coat front and 24 Line Eagle enlisted buttons for capes.
36L (7/8") existed but they are vary rarely found in digs.
Their predominate usage was on Officer's fatigue coats 1870's through 1880's.
Examples of these coats can be seen in museums, private collections and photographs
