Corset or Underwear buttons, Antique. 1/2"
Available in bone or china
These buttons were originally made to be put on with strips of cloth, buttoned to a cloth eyelet of the same material. The proper term for them according to 19th century button catalogs is "Corset Buttons". They were manufactured way into the 1920's and in that time they were referred to as "Panty-Waist Buttons"
The proper use of these buttons is for underdrawers, corsets, garters and crinolines. The most common misuse of these buttons by reenactors is putting tem down the front of work or house dresses and on shirts.
Common size: 1/2"
