Description
This is produced from a privately contracted Waterbury die.
The button was based on excavated buttons from campsites of the Third Louisiana Regiment near the Pea Ridge battlefield in Arkansas. This was the only Louisiana regiment serving in that region.
The same buttons were used by other Louisiana regiments and excavated examples are found in all theaters of the war..
